Alternative medicine

Homeopathy uses remedies which are taken as globules, tablets or drops. The aim of this naturopathic therapy is to reactivate the body’s self-healing response.

Homeopathy
Taking homeopathic medicine reactivates the body’s self-healing response.

Homeopathy is based on the law of similars developed by the doctor Samuel Hahnemann. Unlike orthodox medicine, this rests on the principle that ‘like cures like’. Medicines that make a healthy person ill can help someone who is ill to overcome their symptoms. Another key principle is that homeopathic substances are potentised or dynamised by heavily diluting or mixing them. This means that the strength of a substance increases as it becomes less concentrated.

Substances are blended individually

Based on the findings of an examination, the therapists at Ems Vital select homeopathic medicines using so-called repertories which document the effects of substances when they are used homeopathically. All medications are then tested on the specific patient. The effects are then compared with the patient’s symptoms. A comprehensive medical history establishing the patient’s current state of health is needed first.

Aggravation triggers self-healing

Taking homeopathic substances aggravates the body, thereby activating its self-healing response. This often means that a patient’s symptoms get worse before being alleviated. Homeopathic medicines are generally considered to be well tolerated, however.
